Crypto Breakthrough: Pundi X Startup Makes The First Blockchain Phone Call

A while ago, Pundi X made an essential move for the crypto space, supporting crypto adoption. The startup launched a POS device with the primary goal of making crypto payments easier so that people would not be so terrified to “go crypto.”

Pundi X brings yet another innovation and announces that they were able to make the very first blockchain phone call.

The announcement was made on the company’s co-founder Pitt Huang’s Medium post just recently.

It seems that the call was made on the company’s newest device which is called the XPhone during the ongoing XBlockchain Summit two-day event at the Inaya Putri, Bali.

Meet the XPhone

The XPhone is practically a blockchain phone that doesn’t require any centralized mobile carrier in order to function. The phone runs on the Function X blockchain that was created by Pundi X.

The Function X blockchain is an in-house network created by the Pundi X team in order to fix some very stringent issues that are usually found in blockchain platforms: publishing of DApps, scalability, and decentralizing the Internet.

Five components create a decentralized solution

According to Huang, the new blockchain function requires five elements that make it totally decentralized.

These elements are the following: “Function X OS, Function X Blockchain, Function X IPFS, FXTP Protocol, and the Function X Docker. All five have one sole purpose which is to decentralize all apps, website, communications and data,” according to the Medium blog post.

Users will be able to share data in the same way as they do online, securely via the blockchain. Developers will have the ability to easily publish DApps quickly via FXTP.

Accessing public data will be possible via a particular path that is quite similar to what we type on our computers when we’re visiting a website.
