CES 2019 Hints That The World Is Ready For Mainstream Crypto & Blockchain Adoption

Crypto experts said that 2018 was the year in which the crypto markets have matured and corrected. On the other hand, 2019 is seen as the year of adoption.

The Consumer Technology Association’s CES is the most important and biggest trade show in the world and the most significant event that’s hosted in Las Vegas on a yearly basis.

More than 2.7 million net square feet of exhibit floor space has been set aside for over 182,000 tech industry professionals to share what’s new in consumer technology.

Crypto hardware wallets

These are legit technology as they can be seen throughout CES with “Ledger and Trezor both showing off their offerings. Both are available at major retailers and could be expanding their presence in the market in 2019,” notes Penny.

Retailers manifest increased curiosity in crypto

Volatile prices represent the biggest pushback of retailers to accept crypto as payment. But this does not mean that they are against the blockchain tech. At CES, there are lots of informative session about crypto.

“During “The Great Crypto Debate,” MakerDAO (MKR) President Steven Becker and Bitcoin Foundation’s Brock Pierce participated in a roundtable discussion about the viability of crypto as both currency and technology,” Cryptobriefing notes.

Decentralizing media and marketing

As you all know, video games, ads and media in general are some of the most popular use cases of the blockchain technology and Tron is the best example in this regard, trying to disrupt the gaming sector.

“Blockchain and Advertising: The Possibilities and Realities” brought together CTA’s Jack Cutts with Sara Bruno at Arent Fox, MIT Media Lab’s Michael Casey, and Brian Wong from Kiip to address the subject, highlighting that the blockchain tech can eliminate the minuses of ad agencies for instance.
