FBI warns Americans

Reports have surfaced about fraudulent job postings that are coercing individuals into participating in cryptocurrency scams. Recently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a warning to Americans regarding these deceptive job ads.

These ads are preying on job seekers, pressuring them into engaging in fraudulent activities.

The FBI has issued a public service announcement warning the public about false job advertisements that are associated with labor trafficking compounds in Southeast Asia.

These ads use employment fraud tactics to lure unsuspecting individuals who are then held against their will and coerced into committing crypto fraud. It is important to be aware of these schemes and stay vigilant to avoid falling victim to them.

“Criminal actors target victims, primarily in Asia, in employment fraud schemes by posting false job advertisements on social media and online employment sites.”

There are various opportunities available under these schemes, including technical support, call center customer service, and beauty salon services.

The FBI also made sure to add the fact that job seekers can expect to receive competitive salaries, attractive benefits, paid travel expenses, and accommodation, as noted by the online publication the Daily Hodl.

On the other hand,  it’s important to note that the location for the position may change during the hiring process.

“Upon job seekers’ arrival in the foreign country, criminal actors use multiple means to coerce them to commit cryptocurrency investment schemes, such as confiscation of passports and travel documents, threat of violence, and use of violence.”

It is common for malicious individuals to subject their victims to fraudulent debt and threaten them with incarceration. We highly recommend reading the original article published by the online publication referenced earlier.

According to a leading strategist at the biggest asset management firm globally, the US dollar has lost its status as an unbeatable world reserve currency.
