Everyone knows that Ethereum (ETH) and Ripple‘s XRP have been “competing” for the second position on CoinMarketCap for quite a while.
Now, two essential figures from behind the companies are discussing on Twitter and trigger tremendous excitement and controversy in the community. Here’s what happened.
Vitalik Buterin wanted to be an intern at Ripple
David Schwartz, the Chief Technology Officer of Ripple, got involved in a discussion on a Twitter post by Brian Armstrong Coinbase CEO.
Armstrong tweeted about Zoom CEO being denied US Visa eight times so far.
David’s reply came as a response to Buterin recalling that his own Visa was also denied.
“Fun fact: I tried to be an intern at Ripple back in the day (mid-2013), but US visa complications having to do with the fact that the company had only existed for 9 months and the minimum was 1 year stopped me,” Buterin said.
An XRP fan asked Buterin to join Ripple as an intern now and tagged Schwartz in the tweet.

Buterin to join Ripple?
Schwartz responded to Buterin’s Tweet and offered him to join Ripple.
Schwartz said: “That still saddens me. Think of the great things you might have accomplished! Maybe apply again? We’re always looking for good interns.”
Some people believe that this was an excellent idea, but others saw Schwartz’s response as mocking and told him that he could have been more respectful towards Buterin because the man managed to achieve a lot of things at such a young age.
Someone told him “This is so arrogant reply, David. I think he deserves a lot of respect what he achieved at such a young age.”
Schwartz replied “I’m joking. Vitalik knows I have nothing but respect for him and his work,” to which the Twitter user said “I did not know that. I knew that David never acts such a way but My misunderstanding sorry for that.”
Relax guys. I think it's great that we have the front seat in witnessing a friendly joke between two mega giant minds, who respect each other.
Not everything should be taken so seriously, worst case: they stop amusing us and they go back to official tweets/statements only ?
